A BRIDGE of Weir group will benefit from a share of a £700,000 lotto cash pot.

It was announced this week that the sum is being awarded to 92 arts, sports and community projects by National Lottery Awards for All Scotland, which gives grants of £300 to £10,000 with funds raised by the National Lottery.

Bridge of Weir Community Council will be granted £10,000 for outdoor exercise equipment.

A National Lottery Awards for All spokesman said: “This is National Lottery money in action, reaching into communities across Scotland making a real difference to the people who live there.

“The 92 groups receiving funding showcases the range of projects that can be funded through this programme and the difference that the smallest amounts of money can make.”

National Lottery Awards for All Scotland awards grants to community, arts and sports groups on behalf of Big Lottery Fund, Creative Scotland and sportscotland.

Applications are received on a rolling basis and can be received at any time.
