THIS beauty is hoping to be the queen of green when she takes part in a national competition.
Cora Buchanan, 23, of Main Road, Elderslie, has already been crowned Miss Earth Renfrewshire and will take part in the Scottish final next month.
But the competition is already underway - with the public already voting for their favourite.
Cora, who will travel to Blackpool for the final on September 11, said: “I’m not nervous I find this all quite exciting. I can’t wait for it to be the night of the final and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.”
The pretty brunette has her fingers crossed that she can take home the crown and represent Scotland in the world finals in Vietnam later this year.
She added: “If I was to win I would want to raise awareness of local projects in the areas. There are lots of different projects doing a great job promoting recycling. It would be great to represent Scotland in the world final and being from the area it would be great to show that Renfrewshire is leading the way on this important environmental issue - so please vote for me.”
The model has a degree in law and has been spending time at various projects in Renfrewshire and went along to the Green Gym at Linwood Community Gardens last week to lend a hand.
She said: “It was good fun and if I win the public vote a donation will be made to Green Gym as they have projects all over the area and they do good work.
“It was good fun - they have a green house in the community gardens made out of plastic bottles and they are growing their own vegetables.
“I think its a really good idea and a really good initiative.”
Cora has already been busy preparing for the night as she has to create a dress out of recyclable materials.
