A BISHOPTON shop was raided by robbers on the hunt for cigarettes.

Two men brokeinto the Co-op, on the village's Greenock Road, armed with crow bars.

The crooks, dressed in dark-hooded clothing, terrified staff, making off with a huge haul of cigarettes.

Officers at Paisley are continuing enquiries and appealing for information following a break-in at around 3.30am on Thursday, November 24..

Constable Chris Craig of Paisley Police Office said today: "I would appeal to any witnesses who may have seen these two men acting suspiciously in the area of Greenock Road around the time of the break in or who have any information of persons attempting to sell large amounts of cigarettes to contact Paisley Police Office 0141 532 5900.

Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
