A MAN has appeared on petition at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with choking a female with his hands and causing her to fall unconscious during an incident at a house in Elderslie. It is alleged that Robert Grice, 46, assaulted Paula Anne Mitchell in the manner described by seizing her by the throat and compressing her neck with his hands at a house in Bardrain Avenue, Elderslie, on April 20.
Grice, of Limecraigs Road, Paisley, is also alleged to have assaulted Isobel Wilson on the same occasion by seizing her by the throat - and to have behaved in a threatening and abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm by shouting and swearing.
He made no plea or declaration during his brief appearance on petition represented by defence agent Eamonn McGeehan and was released on bail with special conditions put in place by Sheriff Derek Livingston who continued the case against him for further examination.
