Christopher Shone knifed mum-of-four Mary Craig through the heart at their home in Lochwinnoch on May 26 this year.
The 55-year-old had been in a rage having earlier watched a video of Mary with her late husband.
He attacked Mary while two of her young children were upstairs.
Shone denied murder — and claimed the 43 year-old had died while trying to stop him self-harming.
But Judge Johanna Johnston yesterday told Christopher Shone that she was imposing a life sentence.
As Shone was led away to begin his sentence, grief-stricken members of Mary’s family shouted at him: “Murderer” and “rot in hell.” More in tomorrow's Gazette.
