The app called KLANG: The Road Home, developed Transport Scotland and the Scottish Government, is aimed at 8-11 year olds to encourage positive learning and an understanding of road safety through gaming technology.

In recent years we have seen real improvements in road safety but more can be done, that is why we aim to build on this by looking at new and innovative ways of educating our young people on how to stay safe. Safer routes to school are important, but education is equally important.

The game is all about showing how to safely navigate our busy streets. More information on the app and Road Safety Scotland can be found at www.jrso.com Budget settlement good for Renfrewshire The SNP-Government budget has been approved by the Scottish Parliament and is focused on protecting the important measures that are making lives better, tackling inequality, investing in our economy and protecting our public services and social provision. Free education, free prescriptions, free personal care, concessionary travel and the council tax freeze all continue.

The SNP budget also delivers on commitments to expand childcare and to provide free school meals for all p1-p3 pupils.

In Renfrewshire the local Council budget has increased to £313 Million. We have also made the resources available for the ‘city deal’.

Meanwhile, Labour are desperate to cut teacher numbers. Labour in Renfrewshire have been pushing the Scottish Government to drop a commitment to teachers numbers being maintained. However, the Scottish Government has made the money available to protect teacher numbers, otherwise I suspect Labour would have been cutting deep here.

Standing up for the NHS The SNP have protected the NHS. A YouGov poll shows that net confidence in Scotland’s NHS stands at +55 per cent – compared to +43 per cent in England and only +10 per cent in Wales, where Labour is in administration.

These figures come on the back of similar ratings included in the British Social Attitudes Survey which found that 75 per cent of people in Scotland are satisfied with the NHS – in comparison to 65 per cent in England and only 51 per cent in Wales.

Previous polling has shown that the SNP is the party which is most trusted with Scotland’s NHS. The Scottish Government budget has increased NHS funding, which now stands at more than £12bn for the first time ever.

The SNP’s record on the NHS is second to none – delivering real results on waiting times and staff numbers, introducing free prescriptions for all and protecting the NHS budget in the face of cuts passed down the line from Westminster.

Of course the NHS faces pressures, but there can be no question that it has been the first spending priority of the SNP Scottish Government. The staff of the service deserve our praise.
