In Parliament - Parliament has broken up for the Conference Recess and I’m sure you will all be seeing lots of coverage of this over the next couple of weeks.

SNP Conference actually takes place after Parliament returns – so MPs have to try and be in two places at the same time.

Before the current recess, we debated the Trade Union Bill, where I was disgusted to watch our Conservative Government pull apart the rights of working people to work together and take action against unjust employers.

We also had a fresh take on Prime Minister’s Questions, where questions from real people were put to the Prime Minister.

Council Tax - Research from the Scottish Parliament has revealed that not only was the council tax freeze fully funded, but that council’s received more than they would have done had they increased the council tax by inflation each year. It’s time for Labour politician to stop scaremongering over the council tax freeze which has helped individuals, families and communities cope when other costs are rising and wages are largely remaining static.

Surgeries - As promised at previous ad hoc surgeries, meetings and in previous columns I will be starting my regular Advice Surgeries this month. I held a number of surgeries on September 29 and where I met with many constituents who raised a wide range of issues.

I will be holding surgeries at: Second Friday of each month (starting Friday, October 9) Elderslie Village Hall from 9.45am to 10.15am The Old Library Centre, Kilbarchan from 10:30am to 11:15am Johnstone Town Hall from 11.30am to 12.15pm Foxbar Community Centre from 12.45pm to 1.15pm Glenburn Community Centre from 1.30pm to 2pm Second Saturday of each month (starting Saturday, November 14) The McKillop Institute, Lochwinnoch from 10am to 10.30am Howwood Village Hall from 10.45am to 11.15am I look forward to meeting all of you who come along.

2016 Holyrood Campaign - I was delighted and honoured to be asked by the First Minister to join John Swinney and Stuart Hosie in the SNP 2016 Holyrood Campaign.

I’m so excited to spearhead the Youth Campaign and can’t wait to get started.
