Swearing footballers at St Mirren FC's training ground are to be fined by club bosses - after furious neighbours complained about them turning the air blue.
Residents living next to the Scottish Championship side's £1million Ralston Training Complex in Paisley, Renfrewshire, have been subjected to loud foul language from footballers for hours on end.
The fed-up local community council made an official complaint to the club after the profanity count.
And now, after meeting with concerned locals, the club's chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick has imposed fines on swearing players.
After the meeting, Mr Fitzpatrick said neighbours of the training ground had already noticed a reduction in swearing.
Mr Fitzpatrick said: "They said the swearing has already curbed a lot and that is fantastic.
"We spoke to the players and the manager is totally behind it. Industrial language happens but they are trying to stop that.
"Whether they are St Mirren fans or not, they stay in Paisley and St Mirren's the heart of that and we've got to listen to them and help."
Players are to be fined £1 for each swear word they utter.
Mr Fitzpatrick said: "If anybody swears or says a certain word they put a pound in. So let's hope there's not much money in that tin. We won't be millionaires."
Paul Masterton, chairman of Ralston Community Council, said he was pleased with the outcome of the meeting.
He said: "I think it was very constructive on both sides. The club has said it is going to take steps to sort this and have reopened the channels of communication which had broken down quite badly."
