ST Mirren will make the journey across the Erskine Bridge to face Dumbarton on Saturday.

The part-timers proved to be something of a bogey team for the Buddies last season as they notched up three wins to Saints’ one in the four Championship meetings last season.

St Mirren's first trip to the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium last term was the final nail in former manager Ian Murray's coffin. Murray resigned immediately after Sons' 1-0 win.

Stevie Aitken’s Dumbarton have had mixed start to the season and might’ve been in a stronger position but for a couple of late goals they conceded.

They started off with a 4-3 defeat to Dunfermline at East End Park, before a shock 1-0 home win over Dundee United at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium, former St Mirren youth player Mark Docherty scoring from the spot.

Late goals conceded in the 1-1 draw with Morton at Cappielow and the 1-0 loss at Falkirk cost the Sons three points, while they lost 1-0 to title favourites Hibs on Saturday.

Supporters are advised there will be lane closures on the Erskine Bridge on the day. Transport Scotland said offside lane closures will be required in both directions on Saturday and Sunday September 17-18 and traffic management will be in operation from 6am to 6pm each day. Journey times are expected to increase by 45 minutes.
