ST MIRREN manager Jack Ross will add a striker to his ranks on Monday as the Saints squad for next season nears completion.

The Buddies received a boost on Thursday when Cypriot full back Stelios agreed to sign a one-year deal to extend his stay in Paisley.

The 26-year-old moved to the Buddies in January and quickly became a fans' favourite, scoring a double against Hibs and finding the net in the 4-1 win over Morton at Cappielow.

Talks between Stelios and the club took place on Thursday, he has agreed his deal in principal and will sign the contract on Monday.

A forward will also sign up and Jack Ross says he's not finished his recruitment in the forward area. But with 20 signed players, including youngsters Lewis McLear, Nathan Flanagan and Darren Whyte, prior to pre-season starting on Thursday, Ross is willing to be patient with his remaining targets.

He said: "We'll probably have another player signing on Monday, we're in a fairly healthy position for the start of pre-season. We'd like to add two or three more and we'll have three or four younger players joining us for pre-season so we can assess them, but I'm pleased with where we are at in terms of the numbers we've brought in.

"We're not in any desperate rush with the other signings. We're still in negotiations with a couple of players and after that we can afford to be a bit more patient because we've got the vast majority of the squad in place.

"I would like another striker in, that's a priority area, most other positions are fairly healthy."
