PAISLEY golfer Stephen McAllister took on a stellar field as he made the cut at the Senior British Open last week.
McAllister ended the event in 80th position in a field of 144 after rounds of 78, 77, 78 and 75 to scoop £2,264.
He finished ahead of five-time European Tour winner Costantino Rocca and eight-time PGA Tour winner Fred Funk.
The star-studded event featured the likes of Sir Nick Faldo, Jose Marie Olazabal, Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle, John Daly, Colin Montgomerie, Tom Watson and the winner Bernhard Langer.
The German coped brilliantly with the rain and wind on Sunday at Royal Porthcawl for his record-extending 10th senior major title and fifth in the last 10.
The 59-year-old closed with an even-par 72 to finish at four under and beat American Corey Pavin by three strokes.
Langer joined Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win three senior majors in a season, and won the event for the third time to match the tournament record.
