RENFREW motorcycle starlet Jack Hart was back to winning ways on home soil as he claimed the KMSC F125 title at Knockhill.

After taking on some of Europe’s best young riders at the European Talent Cup in Valencia on July 9, the 12-year-old was back setting the pace in Scotland on the weekend of July 29 and 30.

The Trinity High School pupil performed consistently well over the weekend and even recovered from nearly crashing and registering a did not finish in his third race to win.

Jack started strongly and took second place in the first two races on Saturday.

But Sunday got off to a bad start in the third race of the event after the wrong tyre selection left Jack in trouble and starting from the back of the grid in the fourth race.

Despite that setback the Renfrew star made up ground to record a podium finish in the fourth race, taking third.

Another third placed finish in the fifth race wrapped up the title, with still five races to go in the overall competition.

Jack said: “It was a really hard weekend but that has made winning the championship with five races still to go even better. It means I can just relax and enjoy the rest of the races.

“I’m really proud to have won a Scottish Championship that so many other great riders have won and would like to thank all our sponsors and people that have helped me do it.”
