St Mirren boss Jack Ross could be in line to become the next manager of Ipswich Town after reportedly holding talks with the Suffolk club.

Ross, 41, is currently the favourite for the Portman Road hot seat after the Buddies granted permission for him to talk Ipswich bosses.

The PFA Scotland Manager of the Year is said to have met with representatives from Ipswich in England, with more talks reported to take place next week.

The Buddies' gaffer is hot property and could be tempted by the role after rejecting the advances of both Dundee and Barnsley in the past 12 months.

However, Ross is not the only candidate for the post, despite being the favourite with the bookies.

Former Hibs striker Shefqi Kuqi and ex-England midfielder Scott Parker are amongst the names who have been linked with the Tractor Boys, while Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Hurst is second favourite behind Ross.
