ST MIRREN are understood to have offered manager Jack Ross an improved deal in an effort to keep him in Paisley.
Ipswich Town held talks with the 41-year-old last week as the Suffolk club looks to secure a new leader, and Sunderland have also reportedly showed interest in recent days.
In an attempt to hold on to the man who turned the club’s fortunes around, St Mirren have apparently offered Ross a more attractive contract.
The former Alloa Athletic boss took over last season and steered the side clear of relegation before sealing the Championship title with them.
He remained in Paisley following talks with Barnsley in February and St Mirren rejected an approach for their manager from Dundee last season.
Ross is believed to be the frontrunner for the vacancy at Ipswich, who parted with Mick McCarthy in April, but Ross he remains focused on preparing Saints for the Premiership.
Sunderland are looking to replace former Wales boss Chris Coleman who was sacked after the Black Cats were relegated to League One for the first time in 30 years. It was the club’s second successive relegation.
