St Mirren had Lewis Morgan to thank for their safe passage into the Scottish Cup quarter-final after the winger came off the bench to score two in thew Buddies 3-2 win over East Fife at Bayview.
The win sets up a daunting tie for Jack Ross' side in the last eight as they travel to Parkhead to face Celtic.
Here is how the Saints players rated at Bayview.
Billy O’Brien 7
Rarely called into action, but coped well on a windy day that had the potential to cause problems for goalkeepers.
Stelios Demetriou 7
Used the ball well, comfortable with either foot and put in some good crosses.
Harry Davis 6
Good on the whole, but made some rash decisions, notably in conceding the first East Fife penalty.
Gary MacKenzie 7
A calming presence at the back.
Adam Eckersley 6
Struggled fitness-wise last week but lasted the pace and looks a good addition.
Craig Storie 7
Another combative display from the midfielder, gets around the pitch well and gives licence for Saints’ more-creative players to attack.
Stephen McGinn 7
Another assured performance in midfield from McGinn, controlled the game at times.
Kyle Magennis 7
Moved out into a wide role, plenty of effort and lots of strong runs with the ball.
Cammy Smith 8
Playing like he has a point to prove after a disappointing loan spell at Dundee United. Deployed in a more-central role and was a constant threat.
Stevie Mallan 7
Played on the left and grew into the game. Had a great influence in the second half and set up Lewis Morgan’s first goal with a good run and through ball.
Rory Loy 5
A tough shift for Loy playing up front himself, but it was a below-par display. Still to find his feet in a Saints jersey.
Subs
John Sutton 5
Didn’t have a lot to go on after his introduction. Passed up a great chance from a corner when he headed wide.
Lewis Morgan 8
His 24-minute cameo changed the game and sealed Saints’ passage to the last eight. Well-taken first goal was topped by a terrific strike from 25-yards to complete his brace.
Pal Fjelde 5
Brought on in injury time.
Manager
Jack Ross 7
There was plenty for the St Mirren manager to mull over after his side’s most-recent cup win, ahead of Sunday’s visit of Welsh champions The New Saints in the IRN-BRU Cup semi-final.
Lewis Morgan’s two goals should see him s reinstated to the starting line-up, while new signings Cammy Smith, Stephen McGinn and Craig Storie continue to impress.
Ross has a dilemma at right back. Stelios looks a vast improvement on Gary Irvine in an attacking sense, but the Cypriot is yet to be tested defensively against better opposition. Rory Loy was seen as a big coup for Saints when he arrived last month, but the striker has is yet to justify that tag, as he appeared off the pace against East Fife.
