BECKHAM-MANIA came to Renfrewshire last
week when AC Milan jetted in for their friendly with Rangers. The Serie A giants were staying over at Bishopton #039;s Mar Hall hotel before and after the 2-2 draw at Ibrox. And Renfrewshire United, a locally-based football club which promotes their anti-bigotry and anti-racism message at numerous sporting events around the world, were there to capture Becks, Kaka, Ronaldinho and co on camera.
The club also presented Becks with a special Renfrewshire United shirt with his name on the back, which the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star gladly accepted. During the match Rangers opened the scoring mid-way through in the second half thanks to DaMarcus Beasley. Rising star Alexandre Pato hit back for the visitors after a freak deflection off Steven Whittaker.
Brazilian Kaka then put Milan 2-1 up minutes later and lapped up the applause from the Rangers fans who were on their feet to salute his stunning strike.
But five minutes before the end unlikely hero Sasa Papac popped up in the Milan box to slot home a cool finish past Dida.
