JOHNSTONE Burgh could be staring relegation in the face this Saturday after losing to 3-1 to Benburb on Monday night.
George Walker"s troops cruised to a 1-0 half-time lead in Govan thanks to a strike by a mystery trialist.
But Burgh collapsed after the break losing three goals - two of which came from throw-ins.
The Keanie Park side take on Rutherglen Glencairn in the fourth round of the Central League Cup tonight (Wednesday), but all eyes are on Saturday"s must win league match with Ashfield.
Speaking to Gazette Sport, George said: 'It was murder against Benburb.
'To go 1-0 up through a fantastic goal in the first half gave us hope, but we were rotten in the second half.
'We had eleven guys out of the team but it"s still not good enough losing goals the way did.
'It was the same against Thorniewood and Cambuslang where we lost goals from throw-ins.
'Then to lose two goals in the exact same way is very poor.
'We were fine going forward, but it"s our problems stopping goals which has cost us this season.'
The cup match with Rutherglen could not come at a worse time for the Burgh boss.
Walker says he would rather make preparations for the weekend crunch match with Ashfield and work on his leaky defence.
He added: 'I could do without this match tonight to be honest.
'Obviously you want to do well in all competitions, but this couldn"t be a worse time.
'I really wanted to get the guys together to work on some things for Saturday"s game, but now I can"t.
'Depending on how results go at the weekend, ourselves, Vale of Leven and Benburb could all be relegated so we"ve got to keep focused and win this game.
'If Yoker Athletic beat Vale of Leven and we draw with Ashfield, it"s curtains for all three of us on the same day.
'We need to get three points from all our games to make sure our fate is in our own hands so that"s the task I"m setting the players.'
