FREW GET THE CHRIS OF LIFE
RENFREW boss Colin Clark expressed his delight after securing the services of long-term target Chris Zok.
The ex-Rob Roy and Glenafton player has been on Clark's radar for some time and after the departure of Matt MacLean and Michael Fulton, the door was opened for his arrival at Western Park.
And Clark was also ecstatic and landing fellow Rob Roy favourite Scott Upton.
But the moves came before the departure of midfielder stalwart Stephen Reid leaving Western Park to join Ardrossan Winton Rovers.
Despite the lack of funds available to the Frew, Clark is happy at the way his squad is shaping up for next season.
He told Gazette Sport: "I am delighted that we have managed to sign Chris and Scott. The pair will bring so much to the team.
"Chris scored a lot of goals last season and hopefully that will continue this campaign and Scott is a fighter.
"He is prepared to get stuck in the middle of the park and has good distribution.
"As the pair played together, it has helped them settle in and they are gelling well with the team.
"Overall, I am still looking at ways to improve the squad, but I am happy at how things are shaping up.
"The squad are working very hard and if we use the pre-season games and tournament properly, we should be ready for the new season."
Meanwhile, defender Anton Heffron moved a step closer to clinching a deal with the Frew after producing an impressive performance against St Roch's on Saturday at Western Park.
Clark also revealed he hopes to sign up two new players before the weekend following the departure of Reid.
