RENFREW boss Colin Clark praised his hard-luck side's display after they were knocked out of the Emirates Junior Cup on penalties.
The Frew held Sauchie to a 0-0 draw, but agonisingly went out in a nail-biting shoot-out.
Clark insisted they should have secured their place in the next round but was pleased with his players' display against the top East of Scotland outfit.
He said: "We were disappointed but everything else about the game was pleasing.
"We were a bit nervy at the start but we burst out the traps after the break and we looked more likely to score. "We were the team looking more likely to go into the next round.
"It went down to penalties and it's a flip of a coin after that.
"They are a good side and we managed to keep a clean sheet against them.
"They had quality players and brought on quality players as well.
"We had four changes to the starting 11 and three of those chances were in defence so the boys who came in did really well."
Renfrew take on league pace-setters Kilsyth Rangers at Western Park, kick-off 2pm.
