WITH the new season gearing up clubs from across the junior ranks are well into their pre season preparations, with a big fixture card lined up for this weekend.

With the sun shining, clubs will be hoping to attract the fans through the gate as they introduce their new recruits and put their players through their paces.

Johnstone Burgh bosses Colin Smith and Dave Brolly will be hoping to build upon their solid performance in the Johnstone Burgh Tournament last weekend, where they knocked out high flyers Troon in the semi-final.

Despite their eventual defeat to Benburb, the pair took great pride in the way their side gave an account of themselves.

Burgh's reward this weekend is a trip to Broughty Athletic, where Burgh will be hoping new Chris Mackie can bag himself a goal.

Elsewhere, the management duo of Martin Ferry and Colin Clark will be gunning for a good start to the season after last year's ill-fated display.

'Frew travel to face Dalry Thistle for only their second friendly following Wednesday's 6-1 defeat at the hands of Kilbirnie Ladeside.

Please note this tie will be played The Glasgow Club in Drumoyne. Kick off is still 2pm due to maintenance works being carried out at Merksworth Park.
