JOHNSTONE Burgh and Renfrew get their league campaigns off to a start this weekend following their exits from the Sectional League Cup.

Burgh are set to travel to Possil to take on Glasgow Perthshire at Keppoch Park.

The pair were both relegated from the Central District First last season but since then Burgh have moved on from the long tenure of George Walker and Eddie McKim and replaced them with the younger duo of Dave Brolly and Colin Smith.

Burgh’s pre season was a mixed affair with early results favourable before a couple of defeats in the Sectional League Cup.

Elsewhere, Renfrew kick off their Central District First campaign on the road to Scotland’s oldest junior team, Larkhall Thistle.

It is a time of change in the ‘Frew ranks with the side currently playing their home games at Keanie Park. However, they will be on the road this Saturday when they travel to Gasworks Park to take on Duncan Sinclair’s side.

Defeat to Vale of Leven on Saturday sent Colin Clark and Martin Ferry’s men out of the Sectional League Cup but they will be hoping to get back to winning ways with a win over Thistle.
