Arthur has bagged five goals in as many games whilst Colin Clark and Martin Ferry’s side made a flying start to the new league campaign in the Central First.

Four wins and a draw see Renfrew remain unbeaten in the league whilst Arthur tops the club’s goal-scoring charts, having joined up with the club from Vale of Leven during the summer interval.

He said: “I’m absolutely loving it here. We have made a great start to the season and everybody is confident.

“The club are looking to bounce right back following last season’s relegation and we are all going the right way about it. If we can continue the way we are going then I see no reason why we can’t continue our form.

“I know we dropped points at the weekend but it is important that we stay confident and get back to winning ways.” Being from Paisley, Arthur is familiar with his new side. However, the striker revealed he never knew any of his team-mates prior to signing up with the club.

That hasn’t seemed to stop him though, and he has quickly gelled into the side whilst forming a promising partnership alongside Jamie Benton on the ‘Frew front line.

He added: “I never knew any of them before coming, in all honesty.

“I used to train with the club every pre-season so I knew the older guys but not many of the players here.

“But, that said, they are great lads and have made me feel very welcome.” Arthur himself admitted he has had a fantastic start to the season — but hopes to continue his fine form into the new season.

He said: “If I am not scoring goals then I am not happy.

“We could win 3-0 but I still wouldn’t be happy with the way I played because scoring goals is the reason the club signed me.

“It was disappointing not to score at the weekend but my aim is to score in every game. I don’t set myself any targets — I just need to keep scoring.”
