JOHNSTONE Burgh are back on home soil this weekend after the postponement of their league clash with Maryhill on Saturday.

The Keanie Park faithful were left disappointed when heavy rain made the pitch unplayable, but co-managers Colin Smith and David Brolly will lead their side onto home turf again this Saturday as Wishaw visit Keanie Park on Saturday, kick-off 2pm.

Burgh’s first season back in the Central District First Division has been one of comfort with no real danger of dropping back down.

Indeed Burgh are currently fifth in the 14-team league an just six points off the top two promotion spots.

Although promotion looks a stretch for them at this stage, a win on Saturday might change the complexion and put an incredible second promotion in as many years back on the cards.

Smith and Brolly would’ve no doubt settled for a comfortable mid-table finish at the start of the year and recent form has put them on course for an improvement on that.

Four wins in their last five games is good form in anyone’s book and the visit of Maryhill will tell Burgh where they will be aiming for in the rest of the campaign.

Maryhill are level on points with the Keanie Park side and a win would see burgh breathing down the necks of Rossvale and Wishaw in third and second place respectively.
