JOHNSTONE Burgh suffered their first defeat of the league season on Saturday as they went down 4-1 at Wishaw Juniors.
The Lanarkshire side hit the front early, going ahead after just three minutes. They quickly doubled their lead before Burgh halved the deficit through a Stephen Fitzpatrick penalty.
But, the Keanie Park side were unable to build on that and Wishaw netted two more goals before half time in an action-packed first half.
With the game all but over as a contest the second half didn’t live up to the action-packed first half.
Colin Smith and David Brolly’s Burgh had an impressive opening day win over Benburb when they prevailed 3-1.
They will look to get back on track on Saturday when they welcome Greenock Juniors to Keanie Park.
After relegation from the Super Leagues last season, Greenock are highly fancied to challenge for promotion this season in the Central District First Division. They have so far beaten Wishaw 1-0 and lost 3-1 to Cambuslang Rangers.
Kick-off at Keanie Park on Saturday is at 2pm.
