JOHNSTONE BURGH co-manager Colin Smith admits the winter break has come at the right time for his beleaguered side.
Burgh are bottom of the Central District First Division and haven’t won since the opening league game of the season.
With the junior schedule shutting down on December 17 and only returning this Saturday, Smith was glad to have the chance to put extra work in on the training ground with his players, while he is still working on bringing in some new signings with fellow co-boss Davie Brolly.
He said: “The break came at a good time for us. We’ve had a couple of weeks to assess what we’ve got and had the players in at training to work on a few things.
“Hopefully that can stick and they take it onto the park for the next game.
“We’re working hard to get players so hopefully we can get a couple in soon.”
