RENFREW Juniors got their league season off to a flyer with a 3-1 win over Rutherglen Glencairn at New Western Park on Saturday.

Colin Clark and Martin Ferry’s side have been in impressive form early in the season as they sealed progress in the Sectional League Cup with three wins and a draw from their group, and they continued in the same vein as the Super League First Division got under way.

A Jamie Docherty hat-trick sealed the points as Frew came back from going a goal down early in the first half.

Renfrew will look to continue their unbeaten run this season when they host Gartcairn Juniors in the quarter-final of the Section League Cup tonight (Wednesday) kick-off 6.30pm.

Renfrew are on their travels on Saturday when they are back to league duty for the trip to Cumbernauld United, who lost their opening fixture 4-2 at Petershill.
