JOHN Adamson is the new Scottish motocross champion in the Big Wheel 85cc class.
He was crowned by winning the final round of the championship held near Lochgilphead.
The 15-year-old Gryffe High pupil went into the weekend's races with a commanding lead in the championship, needing only to finish in three of the five planned races to secure the title.
Young John, however, likes to do things in style and went out in the muddy conditions and won his first race despite falling off and having no brakes left due to the mud destroying his disc pads.
His second race followed a similar pattern with John falling off twice but still retaining the lead.
His third fall left him up to his knees in mud and it took him almost two minutes to get his bike going again.
With most of the other riders having similar problems on the fast deteriorating track John still managed a second place.
The rain was now coming down in buckets and the organising club had no option but to cancel the remaining races so his two results gave John the overall victory and with that his championship was secure.
John's success has led to a number of companies helping Team AAA out.
These include CI Sport who provide his Alpine Stars clothing, MXM Graphics, KBC Helmets and Putoline Oils.
Team AAA are actively looking for a major sponsor to help out with the cost of competing at British Level, so if any company would like their name on the sides of the bikes and on the transporter then John and his dad would love to hear from them.
John's dad and mechanic, who prepares John's bikes at his shop, AAA Motorcycles, on Abercorn Street, Paisley, said: "John has worked hard all year practising in sometimes cold and miserable conditions and this is just reward for all his effort.
"Now it's back down to business preparing ourselves for another winter series and next year's British Championships."
