ERSKINE'S Rebekka Findlay has got off to a flying starting in the first day of action at the Commonwealth Games.
The Scotland badminton team got their medal challenge off to the perfect introduction with a 5-0 win over the Seychelles.
Findlay, making her Commonwealth Games debut, coasted past her opponent Allisen Camille in straight games to give the Scots a winning start with a 21-7 21-11 victory.
Elsewhere, Martin Campbell got the home team off to a flying start when he and Jillie Cooper took the opening match 21-11 21-15 against Georgie Cupidon and Juliette Ah-Wan. The 22-minute contest turned out to be the longest of the five matches.
Kieran Merrilees clinched his match 21-2 21-8 against Kervin Ghislain before Findlay's win.
Campbell then claimed a second win of the day when he and Patrick MacHugh won the men’s doubles 21-10 21-4 against Cupidon and Steve Malcouzanne.
That left Imogen Bankier and Caitlin Pringle to complete the whitewash and set up the Scots for tonight’s contest against Guernsey when they also scored a 20-minute 21-14 21-9 against Ah-Wan and Camille.
