Team AAA made the trip to the popular track near Edinburgh for the 18-year-old to pit his wits against the best the sport has to offer in Scotland and England. Riding on his Bikesport KTM 450 against some of the best riders in the country, Adamson was competiting in the adult A class.

Adamson’s start in his first race wasn’t the best — with a coming together at the first corner leaving the young rider almost in dead last.

However quickly remounting, John stormed through the field to take a convincing victory in difficult circumstances.

The next two races saw Adamson ride a lot smoother as he took early leads in both competitions.

Despite falling off in each race, he never once lost the lead and took another two wins to give him the trophy for first after a dominant display.

Adamson’s father and mechanic who prepares his bikes at his Paisley shop, AAA Motorcycles, said: “John rode really well on Sunday and things just seem to be getting better and better with the bike he is riding.

“His experience of racing at British Championship level certainly shows as his speed has certainly taken a giant leap forward since this time last year.” Without the help John receives from his sponsors he would not be able to compete. The family would like to express the most sincere thanks to KTM and Bikesport Newcastle, CI Sport, AGV, Putoline, Alpinestars, Renthal, Tubliss, Paul at DMC and Mark at MH Racing.
