TRAIN enthusiasts will be on track for a fun time this weekend as members of the Renfrewshire Model Railway Club stage their latest event.

It will be full steam ahead for visitors to Johnstone Town Hall as they enjoy all things railway.

The fun takes place on Saturday, from 10am until 5pm, and on Sunday, from noon until 4pm.

People of all ages turned up to the club’s previous show (pictured above), which was staged at their base near Elderslie Village Hall, in Stoddard Square.

All of the models on show this weekend will be largely hand-crafted.

A spokesperson for the club told The Gazette: “The kids absolutely love it and we are obviously very passionate about what we do.

“It’s a really relaxing hobby, despite being time-consuming.”

Entry to this weekend’s event cost £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and £2 for children.

There is also a family ticket, priced at £11, which admits two adults and two children.

Fans of the iron road who are interested in joining the club should note that members meet in Elderslie on Mondays and Fridays, from 7pm until 10pm.
