A popular Glasgow band are buzzing to make their Paisley bow tomorrow, due to the town's rich musical heritage.

Das Plastixx have been lauded by critics for their "vibrant rock and roll" and "monster tunes."

And, tomorrow night, they bring their unique sound to Renfrewshire as they take to the stage at Callum's Cavern, in Old Sneddon Street.

Fresh from the release of their new single 'You Wait For War,' the Glaswegians are riding a wave of ever-growing hype and are looking to justifying their tag as one of the most exciting new bands in the country.

The track has a darker, more post-punk sound than their earlier material and is littered with elements of psychedelia.

The band say it is a tirade against what modern culture has become - robots trained to compete and stamp over each other to get ahead in life - with a nod to bands The Black Angels and Placebo.

In the last twelve months, the band have shared stages with some of the most exciting acts in the country, including Rascalton and Fling, and sold-out shows with the likes of The Ninth Wave and Elvis-fronted Nirvana tribute act Elvana.

This year, they released their Button Up EP to a wave of critical acclaim.

Vocalist and keyboard player Jack Mohan said: "I've never been to Paisley except for an ill-fated trip to the car park in the sky, so I'm excited to see the other side of it and hopefully see some of the residents at our show."

Guitarist Mark Carroll added: "I’m really looking forward to playing Paisley for the first time.

"It has a rich musical heritage through people like Paolo Nutini and Gerry Rafferty, so I can’t wait to play."

Bassist and backing vocalist Jamie Bookless said: "I’m glad to have You Wait For War out because we’ve been closing our sets with it for a while now and it normally goes down pretty well.

"I’m really looking forward to playing it in front of the Paisley crowd."

And drummer Gavin McCusker added: "I don't think I've ever set foot in Paisley before but it'll be a nice change from playing some of the venues in Glasgow we all know too well.

"I'm really looking forward to it."
