KIDS across Renfrewshire can have hoops of fun during the school holidays...by taking part in Easter activity camps.

Commonwealth Games basketball player Chris Cleary joined youngsters from the Paisley Pistons team (pictured above) to highlight the camps being run by Renfrewshire Leisure.

Various indoor activities are available at Johnstone Community Sports Hub, Renfrew Sports Centre, Park Mains High School, in Erskine, The Lagoon, in Paisley, and The ON-X, in Linwood.

There are also outdoor activity camps offering the likes of kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing and gorge walking, with groups leaving from the King George V Pavilion, in Renfrew.

In addition, there are football camps with qualified SFA coaches at Park Mains High, King George V Park and Ralston Sports Centre.

Chris, who works for Renfrewshire Leisure as an Active Schools officer and will be part of the Scotland basketball team at next month’s Commonwealth Games in Australia, said: “The camps are great value for money, with reduced rates for concessions and multi-child bookings from the same family.

“As well as giving youngsters something to do during the school holidays, the camps keep them fit and healthy – and, best of all, give them lots of fun.”
