The 54-year-old was killed after he was hit by a Vauxhall Astra motor on Saturday night.
The tragedy happened whenhe was crossing Love Street in Paisley at around 9.05pm.
He was carried off by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Hospital where he later died.
The 24 year old male driver of the Vauxhall was uninjured.
Road Policing Officers at Paisley are now appealing for witnesses.
Constable Ian Murray of Road Policing at Paisley is appealing for witnesses.
He said: “I would ask anyone who was in the area of Love Street around 9pm on Saturday evening and saw the crash to come forward. Any person with information is asked to telephone Road Policing at Paisley on the non emergency number 101.” A full report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
