The 79-year-old woman had been crossing the road at Houston Square when she was hit by the Vauxhall Corsa at around 1.10pm yesterday afternoon.
The lady was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley to be treated for her injuries after she fell to the ground and hit her head.
Police closed the road for hours yesterday while investigations continued.
It is believed that the OAP is now in a stable condition. The driver of the car was unhurt.
