The criminals pounced some time between Thursday night, September 24, and the following Friday morning.
A Ford Transit van was broken into in Queens Drive, Bishopton and a quantity of tools stolen.
In the same night, a further van was broken into in Holmes Crescent, Erskine the same night and a CD player and quantity of tools stolen.
A few days later a further two work vans were broken into overnight between Tuesday September 29 and Wednesday, September 30, in Bridge of Weir Road, Linwood and Erskinefauld Road, Linwood when again a quantity of work tools was stolen from both vehicles.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Please be aware work vans appear to be targeted and please ensure tools are kept secure overnight."
