A Brookfield man was confronted by the sight of a thief attempting to break into his home with a screwdriver.
The 56-year-old was woken by a 'loud thud' at around 6.45am on Saturday, February 27, and spotted a crook holding a screwdriver trying to gain entry to his home through a patio door.
Moments later the home owner saw a second man at the front of the property in village's The Beeches.
The suspect with the screwdriver is described as white with dark hair, aged around 40-years-old and is thought to be 5ft 8 or smaller.
He was wearing a dark blue jacket, dark trousers and may also have been wearing gloves.
The second man is described as aged around 30 and 40 and was wearing a royal blue jacket and dark trousers.
The pair then made off in a dark grey vehicle heading towards Bridge of Weir Road.
Inspector Stevie Espie of Johnstone Community Police has urged anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101.
