A TALENTED schoolboy made his stage debut in a major London production — at the tender age of seven.
John Bell played one of the urchin children in Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry’s production of An Inspector Calls at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow.
The Kilmacolm Primary pupil opened the show in 2005 when he crept onto the stage and scanned the audience with a torch, and spent much of the play looking after the inspector’s Homburg hat.
John rubbed shoulders with established actors such as former The Bill star Nicholas Day and Sandra Duncan in the JB Priestley thriller, which tells the tale of an upper class family whose world is ripped apart when a mysterious police inspector exposes their involvement in the suicide of a young girl.
