THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy snow tomorrow night into Wednesday morning.
Forecasts show a wide band of heavy rain on Tuesday evening covering Scotland and much of northern England.
However a warning was issued for heavy snow as the temperature was set to plummet overnight.
On tuesday temperatures will struggle to climb above freezing with the first snow fall due to hit around 6pm, rush hour.
On Wednesday the snow is predicted to conitnue falling in to the early hours of the morning, when it will give way to clouds and mist.
