POLICE are appealing for information following a deliberate fire-raising incident in Johnstone.
A burning car was discovered near Cochrane Castle Golf Club in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The black Volkswagen Golf was found destroyed by police next to the course at around 3.40am.
Nobody was injured and officers are currently investigating the incident.
Sergeant Geoff Smith who is based at Johnstone police station said: "We responded to a report of wilful fire raising of a car near to Cochrane Castle Golf Club.
"Nobody was injured however the car was left with extensive damage.
"Police are looking at CCTV footage from this morning and carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
"Anyone with further information is asked to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 444 111."
