RENFREWSHIRE sport stars Callum Hawkins, Jemma Reekie and Martin Perry have been nominated as finalists for this year’s Scottish Sport Awards on December 7.

Elderslie’s Callum Hawkins has been nominated alongside stellar names such as Josh Taylor and Stuart Hogg for the Sports Personality of the Year.

He didn’t look back after his ninth placed finish in the Olympic Marathon last year. The 25-year-old Kilbarchan AAC man shot to prominence on the world stage, beating Mo Farah in Edinburgh before finishing fourth in the World Championships marathon in London.

Jemma Reekie has been nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year after making a stunning breakthrough onto the international stage.

The 19-year-old Kilbarchan AAC middle distance runner became the first Scot to win a 1500m and 3000m double at the British Junior Championships.

She then went on to win 3000m gold at the European Junior Championships in Italy.

Paisley table tennis ace Martin Perry is nominated for the Disability Sport Award.
