A NEW dance school celebrated its first Christmas in style by staging a festive party.

En Pointe Dance Academy (EPDA), based in the Ralston area of Paisley, offers classes in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, highland and hip-hop.

Students range in age from two to adults and last weekend saw the last of the junior classes finish up ahead of the new year.

Little ones got involved in lots of fun festive music and were encouraged to wear Christmas accessories, with plenty of Santa hats and tinsel on display.

Kirstin Burnett, owner and principal teacher of EPDA, said it was wonderful to see the children embracing the Christmas spirit.

She added: “We all had a brilliant time and the children looked great in their Santa outfits and accessories.

“This session was for the junior students, who are aged between two-and-a-half to 10.

“It was a great way to get together one last time before the Christmas holidays.”

Looking ahead to the new year, the EPDA children have been practising hard for their exams in February.

Youngsters have been working on their routines since August and Kirstin is confident each of them will do well.

She said: “It is a good way to boost their confidence and also for me to see how much they have progressed.

“They will each get a medal and certificate in recognition of their hard work.

“We also hope to stage a summer production in a few months’ time.”
