PANICKED customers fear they will be left out of pocket due to a faulty ATM machine.
The Royal Bank Of Scotland (RBS) in the town has only giving out half the money requested, but charging the full amount.
For example, when customers have attempted to lift £80, only £40 has been dispensed but is showing up on bank statements as £80.
It is believed that notes within the machine based on Church Street could have accidentally been swapped over by mistake.
RBS have informed customers that they need to wait 24 hours for the money to be refunded.
Complaints about the ATM surfaced on Friday morning.
A Royal Bank of Scotland spokesman said: "We are currently investigating an issue with our ATM on Church Street, Johnstone.
"Customers can be reassured they will not be left out of pocket."
