THERE was a huge police presence Johnstone last night, as a frantic search took place to find a vulnerable missing teenager.
Police, an ambulance, riot vans and a dog unit were said to have been spotted by locals in Spateston at around 11pm last night.
A police helicopter was called in and a large numbers of officers were seen knocking doors in the area.
Residents reported that the helicopter was circling the area for some time.
Police have since confirmed that a 16-year-old girl has been found safe and well.
Inspector Cassie Glass, who is based at Johnstone Police Station said: "A missing girl was reported as missing at 8.25pm.
"She was found at 11.45pm in Kilbarchan."
