HUNDREDS of people headed to Johnstone Town Hall for a community gathering to celebrate Easter.

A variety of activities, such as arts and crafts, an egg hunt, cake and biscuit decorating, games and a bouncy castle, were on offer.

There was also a family film screening of Easter favourite Hop and children were able to feast on tasty popcorn and candyfloss while enjoying the movie.

The Easter bunny also put in an appearance and was handing out chocolate eggs to lots of youngsters.

Joyce McKellar, chief executive of Renfrewshire Leisure, said: “The Easter event at Johnstone Town Hall was a huge success.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves and the place was really busy.

“It shows that the town hall can be used for all sorts of activities and it’s great to see local people making use of this excellent facility.”

The next event at the town hall will be a puppet show, taking place at 2pm today, called Red Riding Hood’s Magic Purse, which tells the classic tale with a twist.
