POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Paisley at the weekend.
At around 9.45pm on Saturday the 19-year-old was threatened by a man with a knife in George Street, near to the Kwang Tung Chinese restaurant, who demanded he hand over cash.
The victim then made his way inside the takeaway and was followed by the suspect, who claimed to other customers they knew each other.
The suspect then left the takeaway and the victim rang police.
It is understood the victim ran across George Street prior to the robbery, narrowly avoiding a car, and he also spoke to a man and a woman in the street at the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Grant Spy, from Paisley CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed a disturbance on George Street, or was in the takeaway immediately after the robbery, to please come forward."
