A TRIP to the bookies could now save your life, thanks to a new initiative being rolled out by charity bosses.

Prostate Cancer UK is launching a partnership with leading bookmaker William Hill to raise awareness of the disease.

Over the next three months, information leaflets will be available within all William Hill shops across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, with posters also displayed on washroom doors.

In addition, all staff will receive training on key prostate cancer messages.

And customers will have the opportunity to buy one of the charity’s ‘Man of Men’ pin badges in store or simply donate via collection tins.

A spokesperson for Prostate Cancer UK said: “Our ambition is to stop men dying from prostate cancer and, to achieve this, it is crucial to reach as many men as possible to help raise awareness of their risk.

“Partnering with William Hill provides an opportunity to get these important health messages out to a large number of men and has the potential to save lives.”

Anyone with concerns about prostate cancer can also call the charity’s confidential helpline on 0800 074 8383.
