With history around very corner, it is no surprise that Paisley is to feature once again in an STV show, but this time there's a punk rock twist.

The next epidode of The People's History show will retell the story of how a ban on punk in Glasgow led to Paisley becoming the place for people to get their fix of the music genre.

In 1977, trouble broke out as punk band The Stranglers played a gig in Glasgow’s City Halls.

As a result, punk music was banned in Glasgow and instead fans jumped on busses to Paisley to find the punk they wanted – as did the bands.

Airing on Monday June 4 at 8pm, the episode will be presented by writer and music journalist Martin Kielty who passionately tells the Paisley story.

Who said punk was dead eh?
