IT WAS fun for all the family at the annual Howwood Gala Day on Saturday.
The whole village was out in force as they defied the bad weather to enjoy a whole host of fun activities and stalls, as the local youth groups stole the show.
With a musical theme, members from the local Scouts and Guides ran a number of stalls selling food and drink, including one that brought the American Diner taste to Howwood.
As well as that, guests were treated to music from local DJ Chris Lawler, entertainment with the Fire Brigade, and a tug of war competition that was won the by a team from the village.
Lorna Poole, organiser: "The day was really well attended, which was great, especially as the weather had been so bad.
"There were lots of people out to support us, we think around 400, and they made the day special - there was a great community atmosphere on the day and everyone was fully behind the event.
"We couldn't really have asked for anything else."
