THERE was plenty to get excited about at a fundraising event in Linwood on Sunday.

Pets at Home opened its doors for Funday Sunday as both pets and their owners enjoyed a day of activities all to raise money for the Royalheart Greyhound Rescue Centre.

From face painting, to pet portraits, bake sales, to motorbikes to sit on, there was plenty to do for the whole family.

And guests were invited to dress up as their favourite animals and characters, all in the name of helping to support the worthwhile cause.

Lesley Roberts, the fundraiser for the event, said: "The day went really well and we were able to make up to £1,100.

"It was so great to see everyone out for the day and supporting the event.

"All in all, it was a great day and we are so pleased with the way it went."

Rachel Anderson, co-founder of the Royalheart, said: "We cant thank Pets at home enough for their continued support and of course their customers for donating to our rescue."

Holly Beattie, of the Linwood store, said: "This summer's fundraising has been wonderful, and its felt like a real community effort to help the Royalheart."
