Works are set to cause disruption on a main road in Bridge of Weir and Houston from Monday.
Renfrewshire Council has confirmed it is looking into ways of easing the disturbance caused by resurfacing works, which will last two weeks.
However, the local authority has said the responsibility for re-routing current bus services during the works is not theirs but that of the operators.
The B790 will be closed from Monday, August 13, until Friday, August 26 and a diversion will run in its place.
A spokesman for Renfrewshire Council said: “We can confirm Houston Road in Bridge of Weir will be closed for resurfacing between Main Street and Southview Crescent from next week, starting Monday, August 13 until Friday August 26.
“Traffic will be diverted via Barochan Rd and Bridge of Weir Rd.
"Emergency and limited local access will be maintained.
“This work is taking place as part of the council’s £7.2m investment for 2017/18 to improve the condition of Renfrewshire’s roads.
“The responsibility for re-routing bus services during roadworks lies with bus operators.”
The council had been working with SPT to put on a temporary shuttle bus service between Bridge of Weir and Linwood via Houston and Crosslee.
However, the transport organisation will put a temporary timetable in place instead.
